Bar Mitzvah of Zachary Morris at Shabbat Morning Service

Please join us in celebrating with the Morris family as we welcome Zachary to step forward as Bar Mitzvah.

My name is Zack Morris and I have been swimming competitively since the age of 6. For my mitzvah project I participated in the Swim Across America 2024 Baltimore Open Water Swim on September 15. I chose this project in honor of my grandfather who recently had a cancerous tumor removed. I had never swam in open water before and this was be a challenging but rewarding experience for me and one that I hope to repeat again soon.

Founded in 1987, Swim Across America has hosted charity swims with one goal: to raise money for innovative cancer research that would lead to breakthrough treatments and therapies.  Since then, Swim Across America has raised over $100M to fund the next generation of pioneers in oncology and cancer-support care. I joined Swim Across America as my Bar Mitzvah Project because I believe in their mission to fight cancer and want to help give more families hope.
