Refugee Shabbat is an opportunity to recognize the profound impact of the global Jewish movement working on behalf of refugees, asylum seekers, and displaced people. This year, we welcome Kathy Bittinger, who founded The Novel Refuge, a 100% volunteer-run used bookstore in Laurel that supports local refugee resettlement services by selling books, games, puzzles, and other literary-related items.
