Join Oseh Social Justice and Racial Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion in viewing the documentary 13th via Zoom. The film investigates the 13th amendment, which abolished slavery, except as punishment for a crime; and the mass incarceration of Black people that eventually ensued. We will follow the film with a brief discussion.
We would like to let the congregation know that this film is intended for adults: it has a TV-MA rating, and it contains violence, disturbing imagery, and offensive language. But we feel that it is an important film that sheds a lot of light on systemic racism in this country.
