Every year Yom Kippur falls on the same date, the 10th of Tishrei. However, because the holiday is based on the lunar calendar it, wanders between dates in our secular calendar. This year it falls in early September, which means that the service to end Yom Kippur isn’t until 7:45 pm. That is too late for many families with school the next day.
Diane and Ray Wacks will lead an early, family oriented Neilah service in the tent which will last about 1/2 hour. It will include all the elements of the regular Neilah service including singing, prayer and the final “Tikiah Godol” Shofar blast.
