Blessings and Curses in Jewish Tradition: Hundreds of blessings and curses are found in the Torah, Talmud, prayer book, and other Jewish texts. In more recent generations, we see Yiddish culture brimming with curses, blessings, and Bubbemeises. What does this “magical thinking” reveal about our ancestors’ beliefs, hopes, fears, and worldview?
