This Shabbat we’ll have a special drash on economic justice and an oneg discussion to learn about JUFJ’s work for economic justice in Maryland. Plus: what does a “fair economy” mean? Throughout the week leading up to Labor on the Bima, share your thoughts on the mural outside the Social Hall.
Since 1998, JUFJ has worked to put “labor” back into Labor Day by engaging our local Jewish communities in a collective conversation around our texts, our historical experiences, and the challenges facing workers today. We have brought those conversations to the community through Labor on the Bimah, a program in partnership with congregations across our region. This year’s topic is fair taxes and economic justice – something we’ve been fighting for for decades, and that is an integral part of our Jewish values and vision for the future.
Join Oseh, in person if possible or on Zoom, for a spiritual, musical service this Friday. Guests are always welcome.
