The mission of Oseh Shalom:

Oseh Shalom is a vibrant, multi-generational Reconstructionist synagogue dedicated to creating a caring, inclusive sacred community. We strive to create a warm, friendly atmosphere for celebrating Jewish life through learning, prayer, and pursuing social justice. We are committed to fostering a Jewish spiritual experience that is creative, boldly relevant, yet deeply rooted in tradition.

Our members come from diverse Jewish and non-Jewish backgrounds. We welcome members who grew up in various Jewish denominations or in secular Jewish homes. We welcome members who are Jews by Choice or who have non-Jewish partners or spouses. We welcome members who are people of color or LGBTQIA. Our members live in Howard, Montgomery, Anne Arundel, Prince George’s counties, and beyond. Parents who are searching for a Religious School for their children will find a caring, engaging, and inclusive environment that welcomes all children regardless of their educational needs.
