DESCRIPTION:This year on Tish B'Av\, Mishkan Torah\, Columbia Jewish Congre
 gation and Kol Halev will be joining Oseh Shalom for a joint hybrid servic
 e to commemorate the day. Tisha B’Av\, the ninth day of the Jewish month
  of Av\, marks the destruction of the First and Second Temples in 586 BCE 
 and 70 CE\, and the subsequent exile of the Jewish people. It is a day of 
 fasting and mourning\, and has become a time to remember other great calam
 ities that have befallen the Jewish people. The Book of Lamentations\, (Ei
 cha) which is read on Tisha B’Av\, recounts the devastation wrought with
  the destruction of Jerusalem by Babylonia. \n\nWhile it is a day of mourn
 ing\, it is also a day to confront the dual challenges of hate and Antisem
 itism we face as 21th century Jews. It is also a time to reflect on the re
 silience that has helped us meet those misfortunes and has kept our people
  alive and thriving for over 3\,000 years. \n\nWe will begin with a short 
 service and the recitation of the Book of Lamentations. This will be follo
 wed with a discussion of the challenges Jews face confronting anti-Semitis
 m and hate. Please join us as we mourn the tragedies that have befallen us
  and celebrate the spirit of redemption for us and the world.\n\nThe servi
