SUMMARY:Second Day Rosh Hashanah Service
DESCRIPTION:This year we will be holding a virtual creative service for the
  second day of Rosh Hashanah. What does this mean?  Because we will be da
 vening virtually over zoom\, we will be shortening the service.  Instead 
 of a “traditional” Torah service\, we will be reading some key verses 
 from the story of the binding of Isaac (the Akedah)\, and using poetry\, a
 lternative readings\, and discussion to explore this profound and troublin
 g story. There will also be a short drash on haftarah\, with a selection o
 f verses chanted. We will be keeping key core prayers – Mah Tovu\, HaMel
 ech\, Unetaneh Tokef\, the Shofar service\, for example.\n\nAt the beginni
 ng of the service we will be consciously trying to create “virtual sanct
 uaries” – “sacred tents” – that will be linked together virtuall
 y via zoom.  To help do this\, we encourage you to physically create a 
 “sacred space” in the area you will be davening. You can do this by pu
 tting some flowers or other objects or pictures in the space\, or by light
 ing a candle – anything to make the physical space you’ll be in a litt
 le different and special.\n\nJoin via Zoom using the HHD password provided
  separately.
